una istallazione musicale - suoni elettronici/suoni ancestrali - stimoli visivi, descrittivi e astratti - musica visuale - un “happening” -

 

Questa in sintesi la descrizione del progetto “Piazzarama”.

 

Si tratta di una festa multimediale in cui si incontrano tre forme di espressione: la musica da ballo, la video-arte e le percussioni.

 

I percorsi dei tre artisti coinvolti, pur partendo da ambiti di intervento differenti, sono accomunati dalla forte attenzione all’interazione e alla comunicazione tra i linguaggi. La performance si basa sull’”interplay”.

 

Come in una vera e propria conversazione i tre artisti intervengono, usando ognuno il  proprio linguaggio come supporto per gli altri.

 

Un lavoro d’insieme che unisce la magia delle immagini di Sinatti, la forza coinvolgente della musica di Ralf e la radicata capacità evocativa delle percussioni di Tetraktis.

 

C’è in questo progetto la volontà di una comunicazione del ricercare, si racconta e si rappresenta la tensione verso un linguaggio nuovo, verso l’interazione profonda tra linguaggi diversi.

DJ Ralf - Biography

 

Antonio Ferrari, aka DJ Ralf was born on September 20th 1957 at Bastia Umbra (Perugia-Italy) and since most tender age was renamed by his friends and parents as Ralf.

After working in small discos of his province he lands at the Cocoricò where he is still resident DJ on the first Saturday of every month.

In addiction to the Cocoricò he has worked and still works in many other famous discos either in Italy on abroad: Adrenaline, Alterego, Area City, Divinae Follie, Echoes , Ethos Mama, Fluid, Goa, Guendalina, Hollywood ( Pervert party), Maffia, Matis, Mazoom, Metropolis, Muretto, Pervert, Pleigine, Red Zone, Tenax , Villa delle Rose, Amnesia di Ibiza, Cavo Paradiso di Mykonos, Crobar di Miami in occasione della Winter Music Conference, Ministry of Sound di Londra, Pacha di Ibiza, Roxy di Amsterdam, Space di Ibiza, Vertigo di Londra…

In the past he regularly cooperated with the organization of the "Folies de Pigalle" on the first

and third Sundays every month, with "Colazione da Tiffany" and since '94 till 2004 he has been cooperating with the Made in Italy Ibiza either in Italy but chiefly at Ibiza. In 2001 he was regular guest at Ministry of Sound in London during the party called Rulin'. He wrote his own column, called "Touch and Go" for the Discoid magazine where he reviews new releases mainly on 12 inches, experiences, opinions and tells his adventures.

During the Milan fashion week you can find him

at the turntables of the fashion parade of DSquared2...

In 2003 an episode of the director Alberto D'Onofrio's documentary, DJ's trip, broadcast by Cult Network (Sky), was devoted to him: a real journey finding out his professional and personal life...

In 2006 born his label :  LATERRA RECORDINGS.

During the summer 2007 from July  10th till September 11th he presented his own party ALMA at Privilege.  He took personally care of musical identity and he played tohether with Steve Bug, Timo Maas, Mathew Johnson, Ellen Allien and more……

Claudio Sinatti - Biography

 

Claudio Sinatti (Milan 1972) is an italian multimedia artist, focusing on spatial video systems and sound interaction.

After an early carrier as an illustrator, cartoon and graffiti artist he approached film and video in the early 90s.

In 1996 he codirected his first music promo for italian band Casino Royale with Riccardo Struchil and was assigned Best Italian Video Award at PIM.

For the following years he continued directing music promos between Milan and New York for bands such as Eiffel 65, Sarah Jane Morris, 99 Posse, Neffa, Carmen Consoli, Articolo 31, Alex Britti, Alexia, Africa Unite and many more.

In between productions he was experimenting with film and video projections until, back in Milan in 1999, he founded the pioneering video collective Sun Wu-Kung with the main interest of exploring live manipulation of sounds and images.

The collective was active until the end of 2002 and gathered several video makers and musicians ( Riccardo Arena, Matteo Mariano, Roberto Guidotti, Nunzio Cicero, Gigi Tarantola, Elio Scintu, Painè Cuadrelli... ).

Later that year he started two separate audiovisual projects, Crop with Sergio Messina and Grain with musician Jonas Coshto.

Besides a prolific series of personal video projects he has collaborated on live performances with artists such as Christian Fennesz, Stephan Mathieu, Olivier Lamm, Scanner, Tu 'M, Retina.it, Pierpaolo Leo, Stefano Tedesco, Andrea Gabriele, Marco Messina, Iris Garrelfs, Ulrich Troyer, Renato Zero, Negramaro, Ligabue...

In 2004 he started the mix media project Pirandelo with Andrea Gabriele and Marita Cosma.

In 2005 he was invited to be part of Symbiosis Orchestra, a live mixedmedia project with Iris Garrelfs, Scanner, Stefano Tedesco, Andrea Gabriele, Marco Messina, Geoff Warren, Mario Masullo and Diego Conti.

In recent years his work has focused on installation projects and performances, for personal research and commercial purposes, moving between art festivals, brand events, pop concerts, television, fashion, cinema, theatre...

He has worked for brands such as Nike, MTV, Pirelli, BMW, Heineken, Rolex, Breil, Gas, Piombo, Strenesse...

He currently teaches experimental multimedia at Istituto Europeo di Design and holds frequent lectures and workshops in many countries.

Tetraktis Percussioni - Biography

 

Since their coming together in 1993 Tetraktis has been acknowledged as one of the most brilliant,

innovative and forward-looking Italian percussion ensemble by critics and audiences of all different

ages and backgrounds.

Innovation and diversity of programs, insatiable curiosity, virtuosity, infectious passion and fun,

and a substantial history of collaborations and commissions are their distinctive marks.

The 4 members of the ensemble are virtuosos alone and bring their individual character and experienceto the distinct whole of Tetraktis. After their studies at the Conservatory of Perugia they took part in courses and master classes of G.Mortensen, D.Friedman, M.Rosen, R.Wiener, R.van Sice, D. Searcy, M.Quinn, R.Schulkosky, M. Ben Omar. They have regularly featured as orchestral

percussionists in orchestras such as La Scala (Milan), RAI National Orchestra (Rome),

Teatro Regio (Turin) – Teatro San Carlo (Naples) Teatro Comunale (Florence),

Accademia di Santa Cecilia (Rome), Teatro dell’Opera (Rome), Gustav Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Luzern Festival Orchestra, under the batons of conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Carlo Maria Giulini, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Lorin Maazel, Daniel Harding, Georges Prêtre, Daniel Oren, Mtislav Rostropovic, Gustav Kuhn, among many others. They are also much in demand as music teachers and presenters with their highly successful educational programs. With more than 250 concerts Tetraktis toured the U.S.A. twice and have brought their infectious playing in major concert seasons and festivals all over Italy as well as in Germany, Turkey, Nigeria and Sweden (invited by world leading ensemble Kroumata in joint performances of Steve Reich’s “Drumming”). Tetraktis commitment to new music have brought a breath of fresh air in Italian musical life. They have given substantial contribution to the repertoire for percussion ensemble by commissioning and championing new works by composers such as Giovanni Sollima, Carlo Boccadoro, Roberto Andreoni, Paolo Ugoletti, Thomas Briccetti, Tonino Battista, Fernando Sulpizi, Carlo Galante, Carlo Crivelli, Paolo Coggiola, Ciro Scarponi, Ramberto Ciammarughi, Maurizio Curcio, Alessandro Annunziata, Fabrizio Nocci, Davide Zannoni, Gianluca Cangemi. Tetraktis' collaborations spans the whole spectrum of today’s music - from Jazz to Pop and Rock, from Dance to Opera. They have featured as guest ensemble or have hosted in their programs artists such as Lorenzo Cherubini aka Jovanotti, David Brutti, Stefano “Cocco” Cantini, Roberto Laneri, Micrologus, Ramberto Ciammarughi, DJ Ralf, Giovanni Sollima, as well as dance/theatre companies and directors Moto Armonico, ATMO, Bruno De Franceschi, Maurizio Smith, Kataklò among many others. Tetraktis’ debut recording “Millennium Bug” was hailed by Ennio Morricone as an “original and heterogeneous CD from both stylistical and timbral points of view, bringing out the best of the multiform percussion world”. Nine years after such a debut CD Tetraktis have gone further on with their most recent, adventurous CD “Drama” - a unique kaleidoscope of new music and sounds featuring guest musicians and friends from virtually every field of today’s music - and are producing new exciting projects. More curious, passionate and surprising than ever.
